About Jim Somerville

Jim was born in the Hawaiian Islands where he attended Kalani High School then the University of Hawaii. Jim’s experience as a nationally ranked junior tennis player, collegiate player, and professionally ranked player, harnessed the competitive and disciplined qualities that form the professional & competitive drive of his real estate career today.

Early in Jim’s professional career his business management skills, provided a natural platform within Travel Industry Management to excel as a tennis director for Sheraton Hotels in the Pacific Rim for multiple tennis facilities throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Upon moving to the Monterey Peninsula in 1994 Jim was hired by Konica-Minolta as regional sales manager with Konica-Minolta office automation hardware and software. After 9 years of managing accounts for Konica-Minlota Jim transitioned his sales management skills to the dynamic business of real estate.

Licensed since 2003, Jim has been recognized by Coldwell Banker with the International Presidents Elite recognition as the #1 producing real estate broker for Coldwell Banker’s Pebble Beach Office and the 3rd top producing real estate broker for Coldwell Banker - Monterey Peninsula, and top 1% producing real estate broker nationwide. A licensed Realtor in both California and Hawaii, Jim has mastery of the digital marketing platform leveraging technology to reach the desired target audience. Jim has represented some of the finest luxury homes along the Monterey Peninsula, along with helping his clients through new residential development, remodels, and land sales.

Jim has been married for 31 years and the father of 2 sons for which one has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and works for the United States Government, and the youngest is a senior at U.C. Davis graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering.
